EESAT Session: Cutting Edge Electrochemical Research

Room: Grand Ballroom I
Date: Thursday, September 24, 2015
Time: 10:15AM - 12:00PM PDT

It’s more than just a battery.  This session will feature research and development on electrochemical energy storage systems – from laboratory inception, to testing lifecycles, to second use, and everything in between.  Presenters will share with attendees the most up to date information available on electrochemical storage systems and how their research may impact the way we think about batteries in the future. While lithium ion technologies make up the bulk of commercial deployments that we see today, the future is wide open and numerous technologies continue to advance both their performance and cost-effectiveness.   From when a charge enters a storage system until it is pushed back onto the grid, these panels will offer insights into improvements that lie on the horizon for electrochemical systems.
